Such an indifferent people are we So cold and uncaring... We walk on by and we watch life’s blood spill out on the street of the city not getting involved unlike the Good Samaritan who stopped to help some guy who had been mugged in olden days.
“I didn’t want to get involved”
Pardon me, boy, but what do you have time for? When will it be important enough for you to get involved with your fellow man?
And then your number is called or when the bullet is shot with your name on it but passersby just pass you by where will you be then, wise guy?
Those kindly folks will stand and stare and watch your lifeblood stain the sidewalk saying “I didn’t want to get involved” And you will pass away.
Note from the Author:
This was inspired by reading a story about a woman who was stabbed to death on the streets of Chicago and the sad part was that over three hundred people either heard or saw the murder taking place, and none of them did anything to stop it! Indeed someone passing by stole her purse! A strange coincidence is that approximately 3 hours after this was written, two friends of mine got into an altercation over a woman they had both been screwing. Steve had been seeing Jay's wife, and that night, Jay caught them together and pulled a gun on Steve, blowing his head right off as he packed a 357 Magnum. I still miss Steve and Jay to this day.

I was shocked to hear about your friends Steve and Jay, Dave. But why would a godly man like yourself want to be "friends" with adulterers? In my opinion, Jay's wife got what she deserved as she was a vile sinner, defiling the marital bed. Steve also got what was coming to him as he was a filthy fornicator and I hope Jay got the chair for murder. He was probably an adulterer as wel, so is no loss. You should feel grateful that you have been spared the company of these SEX-SINNERS!
Your poem is good.
