Serenity, winter seas, deep blue, with a hint of bitterness, cold and dark, yet I smile for you, in this winter sun.
As each wave collides with the shore, crashes into my mind, my heart pounds, as she draws away, I sigh, she carries away my guilt and pain.
What is left, lying wrecked on the pebbles, with renewed strength and courage, I think of you once more, and again I smile.

The elements of sadness which you mentioned rang out more strongly for me here than the uplifting side, it was more bittersweet - but in such a beautifully painted way that I couldn't help but enjoy it. Also because I am used to living by the sea [grew up by it and my sister drowned it it sadly] and thus associate it with home, with life, with happiness and tragedy too... this was exquisitly done!
