Thomas Erskine, 6th Earl of Kellie, Developed a very large belly And this was, I think Because of the drink Which he scoffed with a great deal of wellie.
And to quaff lots of drink in this way Is still done in Scotland today Some people say, too There's not much else to do, And that could be true, right - Okay?

I am indebted to you. I (a cultural bore of great renown) have never heard of Mr E. Nor "a great deal of wellie".

I must admit that I have never heard any of his music. Gie it the wellie is a commonly used phrase in Scotland, meaning "put your back into it" or " accelerate" or nay number of naughtier alternatives.

Apparently he was known as "Fiddler Tam" and there are some samples of his music on the net. Sounds a bit like Mozart or Haydn to me.
