Hake, hake, hake Is a fishy that swims in the sea, With many a bubble and splutter He's happy as he can be.
O well for this halcyon fish, That he never has heard of the net, For to lie with some chips on a dish Would put his poor skin in a sweat.
And he swims and swims all day While a bubble comes out of each gill; With the other hake he will sport and play, When the sea is calm and still.
Hake, hake, hake Look out for the hook and the line! For I am afloat in a bonny wee boat And soon you will be mine.

Alternative ending:
Hake, hake, hake, What are you like to make love roughly? Are you as great as a trout or a skate Or as sweet as a Muscovy duck?
